M5.0 earthquake in the Texas Panhandle, strongest in over a century

A magnitude 5.0 (M5.1 per some agencies) earthquake struck the Texas Panhandle at 5:21 a.m. on July 23, with an epicenter about 23 miles southeast of Spearman, Texas, and a shallow depth of roughly 3.4 miles.
